The course "History of Architecture" is intended for first-year undergraduate students, "Project Management" option during the first semester. It traces the evolution of architecture during three periods of history: prehistory, antiquity and the Middle Ages. It covers the context of emergence and the characteristics of the different architectural styles, as well as the technical innovations specific to each style.
- Course objectives :
- Know the characteristics of the different architectural styles that followed one another from antiquity to the end of the Middle Ages,
- Know the construction techniques developed in each architectural style,
- To create a precise and diverse architectural vocabulary,
- Apply the knowledge acquired in the analysis of the buildings studied (in the history tutorials or in other modules),
- To raise awareness of the importance of each architectural style in the evolution of the field of architecture.

Chapter 1: Prehistory and the first shelters.
Antiquity
Chapter 2: Mesopotamian architecture.
Chapter 3: Egyptian architecture égyptienne.
Chapter 4: Greek architecture.
Chapter 5: Roman architecture.
The middle ages
Chapter 6: Romanesque architecture
Chapter 7: Gothic architecture
Chapter 8: Byzantine architecture
