Second year students at the English Department of the University of Guelma are exposed to the course of Grammar. The course is meant to consolidate students’ previous knowledge of language structure via gradually exposing them to simple, then more complex stretches of language along with possible transformations from one structure to another. The course also shed lights on one basic component of language; the phrase. Henceforth, students are exposed to different types and functions of this component.
