THE COURSE aims to equip first-year students with the foundational skills necessary for effective academic writing. It focuses on enhancing their understanding of sentence and paragraph structure, addressing common writing issues such as fragments, run-ons, and faulty coordination, and fostering clarity and coherence in their written communication. Through practice and refinement, students will develop the ability to articulate ideas confidently and persuasively in written English.

A *Comprehension and Oral Expression* course focuses on developing essential communication skills through active listening, speaking, and interaction. The course emphasizes understanding spoken language, interpreting tone, and recognizing non-verbal cues while improving verbal fluency and clarity. Activities often include listening exercises, role-playing, discussions, and presentations that encourage students to express ideas, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations effectively. By the end, participants gain increased confidence in both comprehension and oral expression, fostering improved communication in diverse settings.
