Course objective

To develop students' theoretical knowledge about the discipline.


The course is composed of 02 parts: LINGUISTICS which provides a theoretical and practical study of language in different fields; and PHONETICS which provides a theoretical and practical study of English phonological system.

Students will learn to find out all possible divisions of a certain polysyllabic word into syllables, put primary stress on the appropriate syllable, use the exact weak or strong form depending on the context and intentions, detect the intended meaning of any utterances modified through aspects of connected speech or intonation.


Studying English Literature opens on to the world of creative imagination. Not only does it develop skills that are essential for today’s global environment, but it also inspires change and innovation. English Literature studies help us understand the  world in all its social, political, economic and cultural aspects through stories, novels, poems, and plays.
