
The American Civilization course introduces students to the major historical and political developments that shaped the United States. The course focuses on key turning points in American history, beginning with the struggle for independence, the expansion of the nation across the continent, the internal conflict that threatened national unity, and the development of the American political system.

The course is composed of 02 parts: LINGUISTICS which provides a theoretical and practical study of language in different fields; and PHONETICS which provides a theoretical and practical study of English phonological system.
Students will learn to find out all possible divisions of a certain polysyllabic word into syllables, put primary stress on the appropriate syllable, use the exact weak or strong form depending on the context and intentions, detect the intended meaning of any utterances modified through aspects of connected speech or intonation.
