This module introduces first-year students to the foundations of English grammar, guiding them through a structured progression across two semesters. In the first semester, students will explore the parts of speech in detail, learning how the same word can function differently depending on context, while also mastering subject–verb agreement and understanding word order to build clear and accurate sentences. In the second semester, the focus shifts to verb tenses, where students will study all tense forms and their proper usage, as well as the active and passive voice, gaining insight into when and how each should be applied. By the end of the course, students will have developed a solid grasp of grammatical structures, enabling them to analyze and construct sentences with confidence and precision, and laying the groundwork for more advanced language study.
