This course is designed to introduce Master students to postmodern American literature and help them develop certain critical skills in analyzing the selected case studies following a list of theoretical perspectives that emerged in the Post second world war era and Mainly influenced by the hegemonic high tech context which developed theories of simulation and hyperreality. Deconstruction and the end of Grand Narrative characterized postmodern writings in America, skepticism and Atheism demonstrated the individualistic styles of authors. Different postmodern techniques will be explores and so different works of main stream writers like Kurt Vonnegut and other minor writers like Amy Tan will be studied.
