Course purpose and content: Introduce the study of translation through presenting the different aspects related to the discipline. Those aspects include the emergence of translation as an independent discipline; A historical overview of translation; Translation schools before and after 20^th century. The aim is to develop in the students the ability to look at translation as a discipline directly related to the study of languages.
