This course examines English language sentence structure and the different types of clauses. Moreover, reporting speech of different types, such as statements, questions, requests, and advice, is explored. Finally, it provides insights into phrasal verbs and their types.

 1.  Reported speech

      1.2. Reporting statements
      1.3. Reporting questions
      1.4. Reporting exclamations
      1.5. Reporting passive verbs
      1.6. Reporting commands and requests

 2.  Clauses

      2.1. Relative clauses (whose, whom, where, which) –ing and –ed clauses.
      2.2. Adjective clause.
      2.3. Adverb clause.

 3.  Phrasal verbs



Psycholinguistics is an introduction to the study of language as a product of the human mind. It deals with the processes which underlie the system we call language. While we will explore these subjects and the interactions among them, our main emphasis will be on first language acquisitionhow infants acquire their first language; what stages they go through in developing syntax, vocabulary and phonology; and how they acquire their first language.
