Didactics, which is the science of teaching, explores the interactions between teachers, learners and knowledge and investigates the relationships taking place between such constituents. As the focus is teaching and learning, teachers and learners come at the heart of this field.
This course introduces learners with knowledge about teaching and aims at enabling them to transfer such knowledge in appropriate foreign language teaching and learning contexts. This is possible through a demonstration of how teaching is a systematic approach involving a set of elements that interact with each other.
The course also explores a number of teaching methods and moves to address important concepts such as: curriculum development, syllabus design, materials and media.
