This course is intended for students who wish to gain an initial insight into what research work involves.

It allows students to familiarise themselves with the research environment, from laboratory practice (developing a protocol, technical skills, analysing results) to bibliographic study (research, analysis, synthesis). In addition, the course will enable them to independently present their research work in the form of a written dissertation and a structured oral presentation.

This course on "Hygiène et sécurité au laboratoire" is an essential component of the Master 2 program in Molecular and Cellular Biology. It aims to provide students with the fundamental principles required to work safely and responsibly in a research laboratory by covering regulatory safety procedures, good laboratory practices, proper handling of chemicals and biological materials, the use of personal protective equipment, waste management, and the evaluation of chemical, biological, and physical risks through established analysis methods. By integrating these elements, the course seeks to strengthen students’ safety culture and ensure their readiness to conduct laboratory activities in full compliance with professional and institutional standards.
