This course is intended for students who wish to gain an initial insight into what research work involves.

It allows students to familiarise themselves with the research environment, from laboratory practice (developing a protocol, technical skills, analysing results) to bibliographic study (research, analysis, synthesis). In addition, the course will enable them to independently present their research work in the form of a written dissertation and a structured oral presentation.

Plant biochemistry studies chemical processes in plants, focusing on structures, functions, and regulation of compounds like primary and secondary metabolites, hormones, and metabolic pathways. General objectives emphasize preparing students for practical research, applying theoretical knowledge, and extracting/analyzing plant metabolites using techniques such as chromatography and spectrophotometry.

Étude des relations structure-activité et détermination des constantes physico-chimiques utilisées dans la conception de nouveaux médicaments. L’étudiant doit maîtriser et utiliser ces techniques pour :

- Contrôler la qualité des médicaments et des aliments ;

- Identifier les composés par méthode adéquate.
