Teaching objectives
To give the student the basic concepts of solution chemistry.
This is a course that essentially aims to familiarize the student with the reasoning of solution chemistry in order to subsequently predict chemical reactions for analytical purposes. It mainly involves:
Understanding the concept of electrolyte and conductivity of a solution,
Knowing how to calculate the pH of an aqueous solution,
Understanding the concept of oxidant and reducer and predicting oxidation-reduction reactions.
